Stefanie Van Leersum
Bio
●●●●● Stefanie van Leersum (1990) graduated from the Maastricht Academy of Performing Arts in 2012. Since then, she has performed with leading theatre companies such as Toneelgroep Maastricht, De Appel, Het Zuidelijk Toneel, Oostpool, Het Nationale Toneel, De Toneelmakerij, and Jan Vos, in productions including MANSHOLT and GAS—both selected for the Dutch Theatre Festival.
On screen, she has appeared in TV series such as VAN GOD LOS, CELBLOK H, TESSA, PROJECT ORPHEUS, SMERIS, and WOENSEL WEST, and played the lead in the TV movie HET BESTAND. She also had a recurring role in MOORDVROUW. The short film SEVILLA (2012), in which she played one of the lead roles, won a Golden Calf.
Her performance in PROJECT ORPHEUS earned her a nomination for a Zilveren Notenkraker (Best Newcomer). She also had a key role in the Oscar-submitted feature TONIO by Paula van der Oest, appeared in the BNN/VARA drama series DE RING (by Frank Ketelaar), and starred in the feature film DIT IS GEEN KERSTFILM, directed by Golden Calf winner Michael Middelkoop.
Currently, Stefanie is part of the main cast of DERTIGERS, a daily summer drama series on Dutch public broadcaster NPO.
She is also co-founder of the performance collective BOUILLABAISSE, whose shows FEMALE RAPPERS and B.S I LOVE YOU were featured at festivals such as Down The Rabbithole, Lowlands, and Fringe.
