Simone Giel
Bio
Simone developed her love of the performing arts through ballet, which she started when she was only four years old. As a teenager she was active in ballet, music theatre and as a voice-over artist for Disney.
In 2015 Simone was awarded a place at the Amsterdam Academy of Theatre and Dance (Amsterdamse Toneelschool) on their prestigious four-year acting course, following in the footsteps of stars like Carice van Houten. After graduating in 2019, Simone made her debut in the award winning feature film The Promise of Pisa (De Belofte van Pisa), directed by Norbert ter Hall. Other credits in her early career include a lead role in the Netflix series (Misfit, 2021) and her first international role as a guest star in Van der Valk (2023).
In 2023 she started filming Safe Harbor, created by Mark Williams of Ozark fame, scheduled for release in 2025. This year on Dutch television she will appear in the WW2 drama mini series De Joodse Raad, starring alongside Pierre Bokma and Malou Gorter.
On top of this, she was selected by casting directors Nina Haun, Pauline Hansson and Arwa Salmanova to take part in the International Screenacting Workshop at the Filmacademy of Baden-Würtemberg. Where she has six weeks of intensive training and meetings with the international casting field.
Other interests include philosophy, psychology and travel. She has an irrepressible urge to explore the world and, armed with an analog camera, to meet different kinds of people and practise her photography skills.
