Gheed Saleh

Gheed was born and raised in Baghdad, Iraq. Following years shaped by conflict, she moved to the Netherlands in 2011, where she rebuilt her life and pursued her passion for acting. Her breakthrough came after a video of her speaking during the 2019 Iraqi protests gained widespread attention, opening the door to a career in film and television.

She has since established herself as one of Iraq’s emerging international actresses, appearing in acclaimed productions including Heera, Joury, Malafat Mansiya, The Devil’s Throne, and the short films Peaceful, The Valley, and feature film Atonement. Her work has been recognized at international film festivals, including the Cannes Film Festival, where Atonement premiered in 2026.

Alongside her acting career, Gheed works as a filmmaker and writer, developing stories that explore identity, displacement, memory, and the human cost of conflict. Drawing from her own experiences across Iraq and Europe, she creates character-driven projects that bridge Middle Eastern and international audiences.

In addition to performing, Gheed has worked as an Iraqi Arabic dialect coach on international productions and continues to collaborate with filmmakers across Europe and the Middle East. Fluent in Arabic, English and Dutch, she divides her work between Europe and the Arab world while expanding her career in international film and television.
