Dewi Evita Reijs is een veelzijdige actrice, regisseur, producent én scenarist voor theater en film.

Ze werd opgeleid aan de Amsterdamse Toneelschool & Kleinkunstacademie en maakte indruk met haar afstudeervoorstelling Boven je hoofd, geselecteerd voor het IT’s Festival. Sindsdien speelde ze in producties van o.a. Theater Rast, Theater Huis a/D Amstel / Toneelmakerij en Internationaal Theater Amsterdam. Op televisie was ze te zien in populaire series als Flikken Maastricht, De regels van Floor, A’dam E.V.A. en Nood 2. Ook verscheen ze in diverse commercials voor o.a. Douwe Egberts, Tempo Team, Etos, Ghirardelli Chocolate, UPC en Kmart, en in speelfilms als Dolfje Weerwolfje, Mijn vader is een vliegtuig, Een echte Vermeer en Kung Fu Leeuw.

Als maker ontwikkelt en regisseert Dewi haar eigen werk. Haar korte jeugdfilm Debiel, waarvoor ze ook het scenario schreef, won internationale prijzen en werd wereldwijd vertoond op filmfestivals. Ook haar film Hide Her, over genderidentiteit, werd geselecteerd voor het Nederlands Film Festival.

Dewi is oprichter en directeur van Buddy Film Foundation, Productions & Casting. BFF is een stichting die gevluchte filmmakers begeleidt naar betaald werk via workshops en filmprojecten. In 2024 produceerde ze onder Buddy Film Productions haar eerste jeugd documentaireserie Ik ben nieuw, uitgezonden op NPO Zapp.

Dans naar Morgen, geregisseerd door Nour Alkheder, de 3e aflevering van de serie Ik ben nieuw is genomineerd voor de Debuut competitie van het Nederlands Film Festival 2025. De volledige serie is genomineerd voor de Gouden Televizier Ring Jeugd.

In het theater was Dewi o.a. te zien in De stille kracht (regie Ivo van Hove, Internationaal Theater Amsterdam) en de bekroonde voorstelling De Dokter van Robert Icke (2021–2024). Haar eigen productie Trojaanse Wijven groeide in 2023 uit tot de eerste Nederlandse theatertour langs zwembaden.

In 2023 was Dewi getuige in de Nieuwe Kerk  tijdens de Nationale Dodenherdenking op de Dam, in aanwezigheid van koning Willem-Alexander en koningin Máxima. Ze sprak een persoonlijke tekst over haar Indische familieverleden, verweven met een passage uit een van haar zelfgeschreven theaterteksten, een aangrijpend moment dat diepe indruk maakte op miljoenen kijkers.

In 2025 was Dewi jurylid van de Big Screen Competition op het Internationaal Film Festival Rotterdam.

Ondanks haar brede, multidisciplinaire carrière blijft zij in de kern een actrice, het spel is haar fundament. Haar diepe kennis van de vloer verrijkt haar werk als producent en maakt haar tot een krachtige brug tussen inhoud, uitvoering en organisatie.

In 2026 zal ze te zien zijn als Toto Koopman in de danstheatervoorstelling Tropische Zielen van Teddy Shouldn’t Smoke. Verder zal ze als actrice te zien zijn in Haantjes seizoen 2 en de komische jeugdserie De eerste keer.

Dewi Evita Reijs is a versatile actress, director, producer, and screenwriter for both theater and film.

She trained at the Amsterdam School of the Arts and gained attention with her graduation performance Boven je hoofd, which was selected for the IT’s Festival. Since then, she has performed in productions by companies such as Theater Rast, Theater Huis a/d Amstel /De Toneelmakerij, and Internationaal Theater Amsterdam. On television, she appeared in popular series such as Flikken Maastricht, De regels van Floor, A’dam E.V.A., and Nood 2. She has also been featured in commercials for brands like Douwe Egberts, Tempo Team, Etos, Ghirardelli Chocolate, UPC, and Kmart, as well as in films such as Dolfje Weerwolfje, Mijn vader is een vliegtuig, A Real Vermeer, and Kung Fu Leeuw.

As a creator, Dewi develops and directs her own work. Her short youth film Debiel, which she also wrote, won international awards and was showcased at film festivals worldwide. Her film Hide Her, about gender identity, was selected for the Nederlands Film Festival.

Dewi is the founder and director of the Buddy Film Foundation, Productions & Casting. BFF is an organization that supports refugee filmmakers by guiding them toward paid work through workshops and film projects. In 2024, she produced her first youth documentary series Ik ben nieuw under Buddy Film Productions, which was broadcast on NPO Zapp.

Dance Towards Tomorrow, directed by Nour Alkheder, the 3rd episode of the series Ik ben nieuw, has been nominated for the Debut Competition at the Netherlands Film Festival 2025. The full series is nominated for the Televizier Ring Jeugd.

In theater, Dewi has been featured in the Hidden Force (directed by Ivo van Hove, Internationaal Theater Amsterdam) and the award-winning play The Doctor from Robert Icke ( 2021–2024) Her own production Trojaanse Wijven became the first Dutch theater tour through swimming pools in 2023.

In 2023, Dewi participated in the National Remembrance Day ceremony in De Nieuwe Kerk on Dam Square, in the presence of King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima. She delivered a personal speech about her Indonesian family history, intertwined with a passage from one of her self-written theater texts – a poignant moment that left a lasting impact on millions of viewers.

In 2025, Dewi served as a jury member for the Big Screen Competition at the International Film Festival Rotterdam.

Dewi has a diverse, multidisciplinary career, she remains at her core an actress, acting is her foundation. Her deep knowledge of the craft enhances her work as a producer, making her a strong bridge between content, performance, and production.

In 2026, she will appear as Toto Koopman in the dance theatre performance Tropical Souls by Teddy Shouldn’t Smoke. In addition, she will be seen as an actress in Haantjes season 2 and the comedy youth series The First Time.
